We love vintage instruments and sell many! New in stock is a very uncommon and hard to find vintage Gibson BR4 Lap Steel guitar, a later version of the EH-125. The production dates of this instrument were only from 1946-1948, just after WWII. This BR4 is 100% original condition and was played for decades by a local East Texas area professional musician who recently passed away. This lap steel was manufactured in the old Gibson Kalamazoo factory, owned by Chicago Musical Instruments. The instrument shows cosmetic wear, as you will note in the photos, but no cracks in the wood. The pick up and electronics are original and function as designed, giving the player a sweet steel tone that you can only get from something of this period! The tuners work as designed, and the Bakelite knobs are in excellent condition with little wear and no cracks. The lap steel comes in it's very own original vintage case with purple lining that shows wear, as well, but is intact. The hinges have red tape on them, probably to improve the strength of the hinge. Overall this is a wonderful example of a 70 year old lap steel that would fit in beautifully in a Gibson or lap steel collection!
